Surftour shut down!!!

The Hurley pro presented by Cold Hawaii Surf Camp was cancelled this year!

Other cancellations earlier in the season and the withdrawing of sponsors has put us in the current situation.

The surftour bord includes Mor Meluka, Casper Steinfath and Claus Jokumsen. As they present it, Surftour should be able to have more volunteers and people to help getting sponsores, judges and organize the events.

We still believe in a future for a danish surf tour but giving the circumstances at hand we are obliged to shut down the idea of surftour.dk.

Should there be anybody out there who has the time, the head, experience and passion for it, please contact us. We have ideas and experience and are more than happy to help

DaKine Wave Classic 24-25. Sept. 2011

Xsurf præsenterer i samarbejde med DaKine årets 3. ranglistestævne i den danske Surftour.

Stævnet er mobilt i Thy og afholdes indenfor området mellem Thy og Hanstholm efter Surftourens reglementer. Vi har valgt ikke at benytte os af reserveweekend. Det er selvfølgelig fordi, at vi har fået lovning på episke forhold hele weekenden.

For at fremme det sociale aspekt under stævnet, har vi arrangeret fælles frokost og aftensmad lørdag. Derfor er entry fee’en også lidt dyrere end normalt.

I forbindelse med konkurrencen skyder vi i samarbejde med Actionvideo.dk også en fotokonkurrence i luften. Vinderen af konkurrencen er den fotograf, som skyder det fedeste surfbillede af en deltager under stævnet. Præmien er et Contour kamera til en værdi af ca. 3500 kr! Dakine Surf Classic Postponed due to poor conditions

The Dakine surf classic will not take place this weekend.

Not promising weather rapport force orgenaizers not to run the 2nd stop on the danish tour on the 14-15.5.2011.

The event will not moved to next weekend. New dates will be published soon.

The 2nd stop of the Surf Tour is right behind the corner.

The Dakine Classic will take place on the 14-15 of may 2011 in Hvide Sande.

After the first stop of the tour in Klitmoller during the Easter holiday, the Dakine Classic will bring us an extra crisp to the tour.

The Danish and the International surfers will keep on collecting rating points and try to reach higher spots.

With a new destination on tour, the Dakine Classic is expecting to give the competitores and spectators a fresh taste and with a possibility of choosing the best location between Hvide Sande up to Thorsminde, we are going to have a great event.

After the event, everybody are welcome for a dinner in Hvide Sande. location will be announce soon.

Meeting up for sign in will be on the 14.5.2011 in the West Wind syd shop in Hvide Sande at 9:00.

The first PLASMA Spring Sessions beat the odds and delivered fresh clean waves!

Let´s be honest; the forecast for the Easter period was not great, but never count Klitmøller and Cold Hawaii out.

The decision to have an Super Session, on Friday, was made and the contest venue was Bunkers Beach in Klitmøller. The waves were super clean all morning and provided the surfers with some fun small waves to rip. The contest was simple; the riders decide themselves who they think should win. The performances were impressive and in the end it was South African, Peter van der Merwe who won in front of Germany’s, Jonas Bronnert and the two locals, Jonas Bak and Morten Lyngsø.

Not even Bunkers could produce enough waves to run a surf contest on Saturday and Sunday, meaning it was the perfect time for the Norden Surfboards SUP contest. A downwind sprint was arranged, in which the German, Christoph Schaak paddled off with the honours.

The predictions for Monday -the final day of the event – was a mixed bag. Anything could happen! The forecasts were reporting groundswell and light offshore winds, almost too good to be true. The competitiors were greeted by clear skies on Monday morning… and yes – a building swell!

The swell kept on building and the best waves were around head high, during the 20 min heats. The level of competition was really impressive, with several waves receiving up to nearly 10 hits. The final showdown was won by Israeli, Mor Meluka, in front of Peter van der Merwe, Jonas Bronnert and the Dane, Mads Ejstrup, who all delivered a rock solid performance.

Plasma Spring Session

Bunkers Beach in Klitmøller supplied the waves for a PLASMA Super Session, yesterday (Friday).
The waves were super clean and glassy in the morning, but got a bit more bumpy throughout the day, making it a challenge to get the right wave.
South African surfer and PLASMA teamrider Peter van der Merwe took first place in front of Jonas Bronnert from Germany. Third and fourth went to Jonas Bak and Morten Lyngsø, both locals.

Day 1: Strong winds were making it difficult for the competitors to stay dry, during the Norden Surfboards SUP experience in the bay of Klitmøller. With an ocean as flat as a pancake, no official competition took place today, but the competitors still fought it out on the water, with gusts of up to 20 knots making it hard for the surfers to stay on their boards and the Red Bull tent to stay on the beach!

PLASMA Spring Sessions ; Update !

Counting down. Only 4 days until the 1st event of the 2011 Danish Surftour kicks off !!

So far we have 20 competitors from 8 different countries signed up and ready to shred it up. Remember sign in happens between 7:00 – 8:00 on Saturday at the NASA clubhouse in Klitmøller. If your name is not yet on the competitors list then get it on here .

Bunkers... Doing its thing.. Will it hold until the weekend ??

Today the Klitmøller locals Jens Munk Pedersen, Jonas Johansen and others scored some great waves at Bunkers. The forecast shows that the swell will hang around, though small, until the weekend. The wind and weather should be nice nice nice and hopefully a new projected ocean swell will arrive on the beaches of Klitmøller during the weekend. We cross our fingers for this and if king Neptune should let us down, there will still be lots of action and one hell of a party !!

The forecast for the coming Friday looks really good, so we have decided to celebrate Easter early this year, by having a SUPERSESSION in connection with the PLASMA Spring Sessions 2011.
The meeting place for the Supersession will be Bunkers Beach in Klitmøller at 08.00 on Friday the 22nd of April and entering the Supersession CAN ONLY BE DONE BETWEEN 08.00 AND 08.30 at Bunkers Beach.
The Supersession will start around 10.00.

REMEMBER this is only a supersession,- the official contest will still run as planned from Saturday the 23rd until Monday the 24th.

The winner will be decided on video during the barbecue of PLASMA Spring Sessions on Sunday evening.
And yes,- there will be prizes for the Supersession,- if there is no official result for the contest, the winner will walk away with a brand spankin´new surfboard from Norden Surfboards!

Don´t miss out,- it´s gonna be sick!

Plasma Spring Sessions: Easter 2011

Surftour is proud to announce that the sign up for the Plasma Spring Sessions is now officially Open ! Check the press release below for more information on the event. If you intend to participate in the event, we strongly encourage you to sign up already now.

PLASMA Boardriding Inc. and Norden Surfboards are stoked to announce a surfing contest in Klitmøller, in association with Surftour.dk and co-sponsors Von Zipper, FCS, Kustom and Headhunter, during the easter this year.

The event will be part of the Danish Surf Series, but is open to all nationalities. The event stretches over a three day period, with the competition being held on the most promising of these three days. This is a mobile event, that can take place anywhere in the Klitmøller area.

The competition will take place in the following categories:

Open Class

Women

U14

U16

U18

There will also be a SUP competition, but as a side event that can happen in either waves or on flat water.

Norden Surfboards will have a range of surfboards for you to try out during the event. So if you are looking for a new board, this is a great opportunity to try one out.

The entry fee is DKK 200 or 30€ which includes a big BBQ, on Sunday evening, followed by a party, accessible to everyone.

PLASMA is known for throwing some legendary parties,- and this one will be no exception!

Entering the event takes place here on Surftour.dk and registration for the event takes place on Saturday morning between 7.00 and 8.00 at the NASA clubhouse. The competition site will be disclosed at 8.00 with a first possible start for the competition at 9.30.

Great news for the surftour 2011 !

Surftour is proud to announce a new major sponsor that will host the first competition of the 2011 Danish circuit.

Plasma Boardriding Inc. has stepped up and will host the Plasma Spring Sessions; an event that will set new standards for competitions in Denmark. We’re talking new features such as side events and a big party at a secret place and time in Klitmøller during the event. More info will come in the coming week. (week 12)

Important: Dates changed!

To ensure an optimal event and the best possible waves for all the competitors the event will enjoy a 3 day waiting period during the Easter holiday.

The event will not run on the 2-3 of april as originally planned, but instead at the most optimal time during the period 23-24-25 of april.

The Surftour hopes this will make for an even better event with even more competitors and spectators.We apologize for any inconveniences this may create and we are looking forward to a great event that will bring together surfers from all around Denmark and beyond! Winter is over and it is time to leave our caves of winter and meet up with our friends for some good days of surf!
