The first PLASMA Spring Sessions beat the odds and delivered fresh clean waves!

Let´s be honest; the forecast for the Easter period was not great, but never count Klitmøller and Cold Hawaii out.

The decision to have an Super Session, on Friday, was made and the contest venue was Bunkers Beach in Klitmøller. The waves were super clean all morning and provided the surfers with some fun small waves to rip. The contest was simple; the riders decide themselves who they think should win. The performances were impressive and in the end it was South African, Peter van der Merwe who won in front of Germany’s, Jonas Bronnert and the two locals, Jonas Bak and Morten Lyngsø.

Not even Bunkers could produce enough waves to run a surf contest on Saturday and Sunday, meaning it was the perfect time for the Norden Surfboards SUP contest. A downwind sprint was arranged, in which the German, Christoph Schaak paddled off with the honours.

The predictions for Monday -the final day of the event – was a mixed bag. Anything could happen! The forecasts were reporting groundswell and light offshore winds, almost too good to be true. The competitiors were greeted by clear skies on Monday morning… and yes – a building swell!

The swell kept on building and the best waves were around head high, during the 20 min heats. The level of competition was really impressive, with several waves receiving up to nearly 10 hits. The final showdown was won by Israeli, Mor Meluka, in front of Peter van der Merwe, Jonas Bronnert and the Dane, Mads Ejstrup, who all delivered a rock solid performance.
